It's an all-purpose sponge! Once wet, the loofah sponge becomes soft enough to exfoliate the skin. It can also be used to wash fruits and vegetables, as well as surfaces such as kitchen utensils, pots and pans, and dishes. These Egyptian-made loofah sponges can generally be used for up to 4 months before needing to be replaced. As a fruit, the loofah is 100% biodegradable and compostable.
